Botox in New York City
What is it?
Botox is an injectible substance used to to rid faces of
wrinkles. Specifically approved
by the FDA for the removal of frown lines between the
eyebrows,
crow's
feet, and forehead lines, Botox is regularly and successfully
used by thousands of people each year.
How does it work?
The wrinkles in the upper portion of our
face can cause us to appear aged and fatigued. Botox provides
a subtle change that produces remarkable rejuvenational
results. A small portion of Botox solution is used in one
treatment, and is injected into through
a fine needle. No anesthetic is necessary for this injection.
The solution is targeted toward the muscle that controls
the wrinkle. The Botox causes the muscle to relax, subsequently
losing its grip on the overlying skin. The skin is then
no longer strained, so the wrinkles in that area smooth
out. New York's Botox is no an Acne treatment or wonder drug, but a way to downsize facial wrinkles.
What to expect after the treatment?
The smooting effects of Botox do not appear
immediately, but usually take about 3-8 days to develop.
There are minimal side effects to worry about during this
time. The area may be slightly red right after treatment,
but most patients feel comfortable returning to work or
other daily routines directly from there.
It is recommended that patients not lie flat
on their back for several hours after treatment. This
will be discussed in detail before the treatment, as will
the minor muscle exercises that are recommended.
Botox results in New York City can last for about 3-6
months. Studies and previous patients' situations show
that the results last longer with each subsequent treatment.
Follow-up treamtents, then, are usually necessary less
frequently as time goes on.
